Learn how to make delicious The Best Chocolate Snickers Cake. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped Snickers bars
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts

For a nut-free version, you can substitute almond butter for peanut butter and omit the chopped peanuts. If you’re short on time, store-bought caramel sauce works well, but homemade adds a touch of warmth and authenticity.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir together until well mixed.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth. Stir in boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them to wire racks to cool completely.
  6. For the frosting, beat peanut butter and butter together in a medium bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream, beating until smooth and fluffy.
  7. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread with half of the peanut butter frosting and sprinkle with half of the chopped Snickers.
  8. Top with the second cake layer. Spread the remaining frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
  9. Drizzle caramel sauce over the cake and sprinkle with remaining Snickers pieces and chopped peanuts.
  10. Allow the cake to set for about 30 minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
