Ingredients
- 200g pasta of your choice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- Optional: Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Selecting quality ingredients is key—choose fresh garlic and a good quality pasta for the best results. Mama Lou always said, “The essence of a dish lies in the love and quality of its ingredients.” Feel free to add cherry tomatoes or basil for a burst of freshness.
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Mama Lou always said, “A well-seasoned sea is the secret to perfect pasta.”
- Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Toss in the cooked pasta, reserved pasta water, and parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and coats the pasta.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If using, add cherry tomatoes and fresh basil just before serving for an added layer of flavor.
Remember, the pasta water is your secret weapon for a silky sauce. Mama Lou taught me that a splash of the starchy water binds the flavors beautifully.
