- 12 oz of your favorite pasta (penne or rigatoni recommended)
- 1 jar (24 oz) of marinara sauce
- 2 cups of low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 lb of ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 cup of chopped onions
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup of bell peppers, chopped
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage until cooked through. Drain excess fat and transfer to the crockpot.
- Add the chopped onions, minced garlic, sliced mushrooms, and bell peppers to the crockpot.
- Pour in the marinara sauce and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
- Season with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Give it all a good stir.
- Set the crockpot to low and let it cook for 4-5 hours, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the pasta, stirring to ensure it’s submerged in the sauce.
- Cook until the pasta is tender, checking occasionally to avoid overcooking.
- Once done, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
