Learn how to make delicious chiken alfredo monkey bread. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced (rotisserie chicken works beautifully)
  • 2 cans (16 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Substitutions: For a lighter option, use a low-fat Alfredo sauce or substitute half the mozzarella with part-skim cheese. You can swap biscuit dough for crescent roll dough if preferred.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a bundt pan or a deep round baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Cut each biscuit into quarters. This will create perfect bite-sized pieces that bake evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic and Italian seasoning. This fragrant butter will coat each dough piece for a flavorful crust.
  4. Toss the biscuit pieces in the garlic butter mixture until well coated. This step reminds me of how Mama Lou always insisted on seasoning every layer of her dishes—it’s where flavor truly builds.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with Alfredo sauce and black pepper. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated. I love how this simple mix brings creamy richness without overwhelming the tender chicken.
  6. Layer the biscuit pieces and chicken mixture in the bundt pan. Start with a layer of biscuit pieces, sprinkle a generous handful of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then add some of the chicken Alfredo mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a cheese layer on top.
  7. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the biscuit dough is golden brown and cooked through. You’ll know it’s ready when you see bubbling cheese around the edges and the top is a gorgeous golden crust.
  8. Let it cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate. This waiting time is tough—I remember Ouma and I tapping our fingers eagerly, but it helps the bread hold its shape and makes pulling it apart easier.
  9. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, then gather everyone around and dig in!
